The ceremony was attended by family, friends, and local leaders including Mukurwe-ini Member of Parliament John Kaguchia.

“When we got married under traditional laws, we felt it was important to have a church wedding because we are Christians,” Mbogo said.

Wangui emphasized the importance of respect and forgiveness in maintaining a long and healthy marriage.

“Women, you must respect your husbands,” he advised. “If you do, you will live like us.”

He added that whenever one partner makes a mistake, it is wise to apologize and reach reconciliation.

Member of Parliament Kaguchia praised the lasting love of the couple and asked the community to follow their example as there is no greater gift than family.

“This family unit is what makes a nation thrive. I wish we could all emulate what this couple has shown us today – that it is good to grow old together,” he noted.
