In another worrying situation of lawlessness in the county, the residents attacked the police station and the chief's office.
Taifa Today's report revealed that the residents claimed to have information that a popular murder suspect was being detained at the Karung'e Police Station.

The residents were trying to exercise their own form of justice because they claimed to lack faith in the legal system.
During the raid, the police and the chief ran and hid in a banana plantation while residents threw stones at other police officers who arrived but were overpowered.
Where were the Karung'e officers during the raid?
The police officers had to use tear gas and live fire to restore peace and order in the village.
“We want to do justice to the suspect ourselves because we do not trust the police. They have been cooperating and protecting these criminals,” said one of the young men.
The youths stormed the cell but left after realizing that the suspect they were looking for was not there.
They vowed not to rest until they caught the suspect and would punish him by making sure the man did not repeat the crime.
The young people wrote the text of the book of Ecclesiastes 9:5 while complaining about the lack of arrest for this incident and other cases reported in the village.
Students storm the police station
In a separate incident, there was drama at the police station when primary school students gathered to protest.
The youths were demanding the immediate release of their head teacher, Mary Goretti Nelima.
Nelima was arrested on suspicion of charging unauthorized fees and sending home students whose parents had arrears.
