Makueni: Mother Overwhelmed With Grief After Finding Her Son, Grandsons Have Died In The Room

• An elderly woman in Makueni county, Ann Mukeli, woke up to a terrible surprise after finding the bodies of her son Benjamin Muumbi and her grandchildren dead.
• Mukeli said he raised his voice and made his son's colleague, Peter Michael, rush to the scene to assess the seriousness of the situation.
• Michael said he did not understand why Muumbi turned to his sons, as he seemed to live with them in peace

Grow up– A veteran woman from Nzaui sub-county in Makueni, Ann Mukeli, mourns the death of her son and grandchildren.

What caused the death of the Mukali family?

In pain, Mukeli recounted how he went to check on his 50-year-old son, Benjamin Muumbi, on Sunday morning, August 18, after he failed to wake up for his daily duties.

Speaking to K24, Mukeli said when he arrived at his son's house, he found Muumbi's dead body with his two sons who had been injured.

“I called them, but they did not respond. When I arrived at their house, I found blood flowing. I found my grandchildren and their father dead,” he said.

Peter Michael, Muumbi's colleague, said he ran to the house after Mumbi's mother screamed to assess the seriousness of the situation.

That's when Michael found out that Muumbi had killed his 11 and 17 year old sons with a sword before he died.

“When I got home, I found Mumbi's abortionist with a sword cut on his head. Another son was also killed in the same way,” Michael said.

He added that Muumbi, who divorced his wife last year, did not like interacting with other people but seemed to have relationship good and his sons.

“Mumbi lived only with his two sons and did not like people in his house. He lived very peacefully with his sons,” he added.

The police transported the bodies of the deceased to Kilome Nursing Home mortuary.
