The family of Zacchaeus Ruto perished in a landslide that buried them alive following heavy rains in Tugen Hills.

The man lost his wife, two children and his nephew, leaving him speechless as he prepares for life without his loved ones.

Ruto remained silent as the speaker after the speaker congratulated his family while promising to stand by him at this difficult time.

His 14-year-old daughter is the only survivor of the tragedy that has left the locals in shock.

Family and friends could be seen crying as the coffins were taken out of the hearse and arranged under a tent in the compound.

How did Zakayo Ruto's family perish?

In the event of Tuesday, August 6 night, several houses were taken by the nature.

Earlier, it was reported that two people were killed by Benson Amdany Sumukwo of Saimo location, revealing the tragedy that happened at midnight.

According to the police at the Kabartonjo Police Station on Wednesday, August 7, three houses had been washed away.

The local chief revealed that three men were not named following the incident, while four others have been rescued so far.

In one of the houses, three people were washed away: Zakayo Ruto, his wife Gladys Chepkangor, and their 13-year-old son.

“I have lost my wife, my last son and another who was in the first form. I feel a lot of pain)” Zacchaeus said.
