The family of Kawango Agot, a renowned scholar and researcher from Kenya, has announced his death suddenly.
Agot collapsed and died on the evening of Saturday, August 17.
What is Kawango Agot's legacy?
Agot was the founder, director, and CEO of the Impact and Development Research Corporation, bringing more than 20 years of experience in medical, disease, and behavioral research.
His work greatly influenced the trend of HIV prevention in the country Kenya and elsewhere.
He obtained his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Nairobi and MPhil from Moi University.
Later Agot went on to graduate studies for PhD and MPH at the College University of Washington, Seattle.
Throughout his distinguished career, Agot collaborated with local and international partners to carry out approximately 60 studies and research programs in more than 20 of Kenya's 47 counties.
The results of his work contributed to the preparation and revision of HIV prevention policies in the country.

The Groom collapses and dies a few hours before the wedding
In a separate article, a man identified as Mercy Alalibo died before an elaborate wedding planned for him and his fiancée, Ella Komabo.
Alalibo and his fiancee had invited relatives, relatives and friends to their wedding that was to be held on July 20, but sadly, on July 19, the young man collapsed and died even though he was not sick.
On July 20, a friend took to her Facebook page and lamented that it was the much-anticipated wedding day, but Alalibo was gone.
