How Naomi Jepchirchir touched people's hearts and went viral on the internet

Despite not having relatives among the graduates, the eight-year-old child who had no shoes walked boldly to the front of the stadium and watched the procession carefully.

His innocent compliments to the smartly dressed graduates did not go unnoticed, as they responded with warm and welcoming smiles.

Naitwa Mwangi, who shared the photos on Facebook, captured the events in the area. Mwangi noted,

“Oh my heart, how I pray for this girl. She seemed proud of the graduates. She lovingly clapped each one of those bulls when they were called. An example of a pure heart and a pure intention. Clap others until your time comes.”

Naomi, a Second Grade student at Kombe Primary School in the County of Nandilives with his mother, Milkah.

His story has touched many, leading to an outpouring of support from well-wishers whose passion and love has embraced education.

Hon. Julius Keter, Majority Leader in the Nandi County Assembly, was among those who expressed interest in helping Naomi.

“This beautiful girl who stood in the middle of the graduates showed her courage and sincere love for education. Maulana bless this beautiful girl. Please, whoever knows this brave girl kindly connect her with me,” he urged.

Journalist Lemiso Letoo, who also published his story on social media, confirmed that the bitni had been found and bought a school uniform.

“We will let you know the way forward, but remember that his uniform is ready until he finishes school,” Letoo wrote.
